Our History
In 1971, several men and women from this area had a desire to begin a ministry for Lea County. C3 started in the basement of a founding member's home, after a few short months, they outgrew the basement and began meeting in a ballroom at a local hotel. This eventually led to the finding of a home north of town on College Lane. This is perfect location to facilitate the needs of Hobbs as well as be an easy access for the people of Lovington.
Their vision was simple, to create a place where the people of God can worship freely and allow Jesus to be Lord of their lives. They began under the name Charismatic Christian Center. This non-denominational basis of beliefs stemmed from the Assemblies of God, but had a calling to embrace people of all backgrounds and denominational affiliations.
Today, many people consider Christian Center Church their home church. Our pastors Jotty and Haley Kinney have served since 1997. Our main purpose is still the same as it was over 40 years ago, to serve Lea County and equip the saints for service. Our goal is to see people fulfilled in their calling, and to advance the kingdom of God.
We know that this church has had some great times and great ministry in it’s rich history, but we believe that the best years are yet to come.
